Glance Deck — Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how GT Media, LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("GT Media", "we", "us"), collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the Glance Deck product, the website at glancedeck.com, and the web-based firmware installer at flash.glancedeck.com (the "Web Installer").

The short version: The Glance Deck device itself works offline for day-to-day use — its firmware does not transmit your sensor readings or usage telemetry. The only network requests the device makes are user-initiated license activations and firmware-update checks (when you connect it to Wi-Fi and tap "Check for updates" or enter a license key on-device). Our website and Web Installer, like most websites, do collect information: we use cookies, analytics, and similar technologies, and we collect the data needed to activate licenses, fulfill orders, communicate with you, and operate, secure, and improve our services. This Policy describes the categories of information we may collect and how we may use and share it.

1. The Glance Deck Device and Firmware

The Glance Deck device is designed to operate offline for day-to-day use:

  • The shipped firmware does not make network calls for telemetry, analytics, or advertising, and does not transmit your sensor readings to GT Media or third parties.
  • The device only contacts our servers when you initiate it — either by entering a license key on-device or by tapping "Check for updates" on the Firmware screen. In those cases it sends only the device's hardware identifier, its license identifier, and its current firmware version, and receives a refreshed license token and (if available) a firmware update. The same categories of data are described in Section 2.
  • Readings from your wireless sensors are received and processed locally on the device and shown on its screen.
  • Information you enter on the device (such as sensor names, sensor identifiers, display preferences, and any Wi-Fi credentials) is stored only in the device's local storage.

Because the device operates this way, GT Media does not receive the sensor data or settings stored on your device.

2. Information We Collect Through the Web Installer

When you use flash.glancedeck.com to activate a license and install firmware, we collect:

DataPurpose
Device hardware identifier (the connected board's factory hardware/MAC address, read locally over USB by your browser)Bind the license to one device; prevent license sharing/duplication; issue a device-specific activation token
License key you enterValidate and activate your license
Firmware versionSupport, compatibility, and audit
Activation and flashing result and any error detailIssue the license token, detect and prevent fraud and abuse, provide support, and maintain a security/audit record
Date/time of the activation attemptAudit and support
Device, connection, and usage data (e.g., IP address, browser/user-agent, request and diagnostic metadata, and analytics data described in Section 5)Security, abuse prevention, analytics, and operating and improving the service

3. Information We Collect When You Buy or Contact Us

If you purchase an assembled device or a license, our checkout and our third-party payment and checkout provider collect the information needed to process the order — your name, contact details, billing information, and (for a shipped device) shipping address. We do not store full payment card numbers; these are handled by the payment provider under its own terms and privacy policy. If you contact us, sign up for updates, create an account, or otherwise interact with us, we collect the information you provide and may use it to respond, provide and improve our services, and send you communications (including product news and marketing) consistent with your choices and applicable law; you can opt out of marketing at any time.

4. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

Our website and Web Installer use cookies, web beacons, pixels, local storage, software development kits, and similar technologies, and we use first- and third-party analytics, performance-monitoring, and measurement services (for example, services such as Vercel Analytics, Google Analytics, or similar providers we may use from time to time). These technologies collect information such as your IP address, device and browser characteristics, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, interactions, approximate location, and usage patterns.

We use them to operate and secure the services, remember preferences, understand and measure usage, improve and develop products and features, and support our communications and marketing. We may add, remove, or change the specific providers and technologies we use without listing each one here; the categories and purposes in this Policy describe our practices generally.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, and where required by applicable law we present a consent or opt-out mechanism and honor recognized opt-out preference signals (such as the Global Privacy Control). Disabling some technologies may affect site functionality.

5. How We Use Information

We may use the information we collect to: (a) validate, issue, bind, and protect software licenses; (b) prevent, detect, and investigate fraud, license abuse, piracy, and security incidents; (c) provide customer and warranty support; (d) fulfill orders and process payments; (e) operate, secure, analyze, maintain, and improve and develop our website, Web Installer, products, and services; (f) understand and measure usage and the effectiveness of our content and campaigns; (g) communicate with you, including service messages and, where permitted, product news and marketing; (h) personalize content and experiences; and (i) comply with law and enforce our Terms.

We may combine information from the sources described in this Policy and de-identify or aggregate information; aggregated or de-identified data that no longer reasonably identifies you is not subject to this Policy.

For users in the EU/UK, our legal bases include performance of a contract, our legitimate interests (operating, securing, analyzing, and improving the services and preventing abuse), consent (e.g., certain cookies/analytics and marketing), and legal obligation, as applicable.

6. How We Share Information

We may disclose information to:

  • Service providers and processors acting on our behalf — including hosting, database, security, payment and checkout, analytics, measurement, communications/email, customer-support, and similar vendors;
  • Advertising, analytics, and measurement partners, in connection with the technologies described in Section 4;
  • Legal, safety, and compliance recipients — to comply with law, legal process, or enforceable requests, and to protect the rights, property, or safety of GT Media, our users, or others; and
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. However, some uses of cookies, analytics, and advertising technologies may be considered a "sale" or "sharing"/"targeted advertising" under certain U.S. state privacy laws. Where that is the case, you may exercise the opt-out described in Section 7, and we honor recognized opt-out preference signals.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information; to opt out of targeted advertising, certain profiling, or any "sale"/"sharing" of personal information; to appeal a decision; and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

  • Texas residents (TDPSA), California residents (CCPA/CPRA), and residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws (e.g., Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon) have the rights described above, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising and any "sale"/"sharing." To appeal a denied request, reply to our response or contact support@glancedeck.com.
  • EU/UK/EEA (GDPR/UK GDPR). You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection (including to direct marketing), and may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. International transfers, where they occur, are protected by appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).

To exercise a right, or to opt out of targeted advertising or any "sale"/"sharing," contact support@glancedeck.com (and/or use any opt-out mechanism we provide on the site). We will verify your request as required by law and respond within the time the law allows. You may use an authorized agent where permitted.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the services, securing them and preventing abuse, meeting legal, tax, accounting, warranty, and recordkeeping requirements, and resolving disputes — generally up to 3 years after the last related activity unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Retention periods vary by data type and context (for example, analytics and log data are typically kept for shorter periods per provider defaults).

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the data we hold (including encrypted transport, access controls on the license database, and cryptographically signed license tokens). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact support@glancedeck.com and we will delete it.

11. International Users

We operate from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be processed in the U.S. and other countries that may have different data-protection laws, subject to the safeguards described above.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always posted at glancedeck.com/legal with a "Last updated" date; we will provide additional notice of material changes where required by law. Your continued use of the services after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy. Devices do not automatically receive Policy updates; the website always shows the current version.
