The Glance Deck open beta is free. Pick up a supported display board and a wireless sensor or two, grab a license key, and flash the firmware in your browser. Three steps, about ten minutes.
Display boards
Pick one. Both are ready out of the box for the beta firmware.
Wireless sensors
Pair the ones that match what you want to track. Add more later — Glance Deck supports up to 16 sensors at once.
- 1Open flash.glancedeck.com in Chrome, Edge, or Operaon a desktop. Web Serial isn’t supported in Safari or Firefox yet.
- 2Plug your board into your computer with a data-capable USB cable (the kind that comes with a phone, not a charge-only cable).
- 3Click Connectand pick your device from the browser’s serial port picker.
- 4Paste your beta license key, then click Activate & flash. The installer wipes the board and writes the beta firmware.
- 5When the flash finishes, reboot the device (or unplug and plug it back in). Follow the on-screen instructions to get started.
2.8" board: hold BOOT to connect.
Hold the BOOTbutton on the back of the 2.8" board, plug in the USB cable while still holding it, and keep holding while you click Connectand pick the serial port. You can let go once the page shows it’s connected. The 4.3" board doesn’t need this.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Glance Deck beta free?
Yes. The beta is free to join. You bring your own supported display board and wireless sensors; the firmware and beta license are free.
What hardware do I need for the Glance Deck beta?
A supported display board (a 2.8" or 4.3" touch display) and at least one supported wireless sensor — Mopeka Pro Check for propane and tank levels, Victron SmartShunt for battery monitoring, Victron MPPT for solar, Aranet4 for air quality and CO₂, or SwitchBot for temperature and humidity. Glance Deck supports up to 16 sensors at once.
How do I install the Glance Deck firmware?
You flash it from your browser using the Web Installer at flash.glancedeck.com. Plug the board into your computer with a USB cable, click Connect, paste your beta license key, and click Activate & flash. The whole process takes about 3 minutes. Web Serial is required, so use desktop Chrome, Edge, or Opera.
How long does it take to set up Glance Deck?
About 10 minutes once you have the hardware: sign up for a license, plug in the board, flash the firmware in your browser, and pair your sensors on the device.
Does Glance Deck need WiFi or a phone app?
No. Glance Deck reads wireless sensors directly. It works off-grid with no WiFi network, no cloud account, and no phone app required. WiFi is only needed for occasional firmware updates.
